Cooking rib eye……………?
Can I cook rib eye steak on a stainless steel skillet without it sticking, I always see it cooked on a cast iron skillet what is the reason for this?
This is my first time cooking do I season the pan with anything before I throw it in the pan? how about oil & spices, when do I add those? how long should it cook for? I wanna know all the juicy secrets?
How thick is it and how do you like your steak, as in medium or well? Its is going to stick. However, you probably want good browning, so a bit of sticking is ok. Brush the steak with olive oil, and sprinkle with black pepper. Get the pan really hot, throw in a sprinkle of salt, and put the steak in. For a 3/4 inch thick steak, I generally go about 90 seconds a side for medium rare. It’s also a good idea to let the steak sit for about a half hour before you cook it. A room temperature steak is easier to cook to the proer doness. You can’t season a stainless steel pan.
And really important, always let meat stand for 5 minutes after you cook it to allow the juices to spread throughout it.
