tri-toon vs. regular pontoon?
I am looking for the advantages to having 3 pontoons under the boat instead of 2....is the speed faster due to increased buoyancy or is it just a more comfortable ride? answers and insights would be very helpful
Yes, tri toons are faster than pontoons. It also depends what engine that you put on it. Mercury 90,115,130 the 130 or what ever they have is going to be faster on the tri toon than on the pontoon. Personally I like Pontoons better. They have the same ride. Tri's cost more. Tri's can be a little tricky turning and putting on a trailer if you have to move it.
I don't really see why you want a fast pontoon or tri when you can get an even faster deckboat, runabout, ski boat(tahoe).
I would just get a pontoon, if you want a fast boat get one of those tahoe's listed or similar brand.
Tri's and pon's can carry the same amount of people, same weight (maybe alittle more for the tri).
