Canoe repair: squeeky royalex canoe?
My royalex canoe has been wrapped around a rock in rapids, and partially folded. The boat has been fixed, the seat and thwart are replaced, and it paddles good as ever. problem is it squeeks. I think it's from where the wooden thwart bolts to the plastic gunwale. Anyone know of a way to get rid of the squeek? I know this is a pretty common problem, but haven't heard of any solutions.
spray some wd 40 on it. Or if you can get at the screws, take them out and bed the thwart in silicone caulk and put it back together.
