1994 Lincoln Town Car Steam from vents and Steam from the hood?
For the past couple of weeks, in this cold weather, I have had steam coming out of my interior vents as the car warmed up. Also I noticed steam from the motor when I stopped. I can't find the steam cause under the hood yet. Could be the heater core. The heat still works, and the steam ends after awhile. But I am wiping interior windows all the time, especially now that the weather has turned REALLY cold, 40s, 30s and below. Summary, I still get heat, the steaming ends after awhile, steam comes from under the hood. Any suggestions??
You may have a cold coolant leak. In other words, it only leaks when the engine is off and cold. Try looking around under your hood and under the car before you start it in the morning to check for coolant on the engine or on the ground. I could be the heater core leaking, that usually causes the moisture inside the car but the steam under the hood could be a hose. If you cannot find it yourself, have the cooling system tested. They can run a pressure test that should reveal the leak.
