V-Hull for Galveston Bay (sea)?
I am looking to buy a simple V-Hull design (possibly Lowe boat 1457) and put a 10HP outboard on it. I don't know much about boating and wanted to ask if this would even work. Is a 14 foot aluminum V-hull going to work for this?
the 14 V hull design will work very well for running around galveston bay. the boat can carry up to about 700 lbs and a 10 hp motor will work fine. because it is a small open boat you will need to keep a sharp eye on the weather and if it starts to get rough, plan on heading back to shore.
before heading out, recommend that you take the small boat safety course and be sure to carry required safety gear and wear your life jacket.
